Bail Bonds in Wildomar, CA

Located just southwest of Lake Elsinore, CA, the City of Wildomar is a part of Riverside County and for a time was one of the fastest-growing regions in the county. From the year 2000 to 2010, the population of Wildomar increased from 14,064 to 32, 176. Today, the city is home to an estimated 38,000 residents. Wildomar existed as an unincorporated community for more than 100 years. Established in 1885, when founders William Collier and Donald Graham mapped out the townsite, the community remained unincorporated until 2008.

The Founding and Development of Wildomar

The California Southern Railroad built a line from San Diego to Temecula in the early 1880s, passing through the region that would become Wildomar. A train station was built at Wildomar in 1884, bringing new development to the area.  A school was built in 1886, as was a post office. By 1888, the city was home to a large church, a hotel, a livery stable, several stores, a lumberyard, a blacksmith shop, and even a park. By the turn of the century, Wildomar could even boast of its own newspaper, The Transcript.

A Forgotten Community – Wildomar

Flooding troubles plagued the California Southern Railroad in the late 1800s. Repeated flooding bankrupted the CSR, which was taken over by the Santa Fe Railroad. In the early 1900s, continued flooding made maintaining the railroad through Wildomar a financial impossibility. In 1935 the railway through the region was abandoned. Growth in the area ground to a halt.

In 1985, however, the Temecula Valley Freeway, known as I15, was completed, once again bringing interest in development to Wildomar. As development continued, the area prospered, its residents embracing incorporation as a city in 2008.

Wildomar Police Department

Peacekeeping services in Wildomar are provided, by contract, by the Riverside Sheriff’s Department. The policing efforts are directed from the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Office, which oversees policing efforts in that city, as well as the unincorporated communities in the region.

What is Bail in Wildomar?

Bail is an amount of money charged by the judicial system to make sure you show up for your court appearances and see things through on your charges. The amount of your bail will be determined by the bail schedule and is based on the charges for which you have been arrested. The authorities at the detention facility where you are booked should be able to tell you what your bail amount is. Bail can be paid by cash or with a property bond.  When posting a property bond, the amount of equity available in the property being posted must be twice the amount of the bail amount.

Once you've completed all of your court appearances, your bail money will be refunded to you. It sometimes takes up to twelve weeks to receive cash back from the court at the conclusion of a case. However, if you fail to appear at any court appearance, you will forfeit your bail, meaning you lose any money or property that you may have paid for bail.

What if I Can't Pay My Bail in Wildomar?

It is common for police and district attorneys to file the most serious charges that could possibly apply to any given situation, even if the charges might be reduced or dismissed at a later date. This can make the bail much higher, making it even more difficult to come up with the cash to pay your bail. That's where a bail bond company, like Justice Bail Bonds, can help. 24 Hour Bail Bonds Wildomar, CA

The state of California requires that all bail bond companies charge 10% of the total amount of bail, in order to post bond for a defendant. That means that if the bail is $20,000, the bail bondsman is required to charge $2,000 to post a bond in place of the bail. While this may still seem like a lot of money, it's far less than having to pay the entire amount. The rates the law requires for Federal and Immigration Bonds can be as high as 15 – 20%. But, all of these rates are set by statute, and all bail bond companies are required to charge the same amount.

California law allows for a discounted rate on bail bonds if the defendant retains a private attorney and pays the premium in full within 72 hours. These discounts are allowed for government union workers, members of the military, and AARP members. These discounts are determined by the surety company that is writing the bonds for the bail bond company.

Bail Bonds Payment Plans in Wildomar

If you can’t afford the full cost of bail (and most people can’t) then a bail bond agent can be your very best friend. Bail bond companies post a bond with the court in place of bail, taking responsibility for the defendant and promising that if the defendant fails to appear for hearings or proceedings, then the bail bond company will pay the whole amount of bail instead. The fee for this service is typically 10% of the total cost of bail, allowing a defendant to get out of jail for pennies on the dollar.

However, there are times when even 10% of the total cost of bail is more money than a defendant or their family can comfortably come up with. In these cases, Justice Bail Bonds will work with you to design a payment plan that gets your loved one out of jail and back home, while making payments toward the cost of the bail bond. Call (951) 445-4155 today to discuss your situation with a bail bond professional at Justice Bail Bonds.

Is Pot Legal in Wildomar, CA?

While Prop 64 made recreational use of marijuana (also called pot) legal, it is only legal for adults. Adults are defined as being persons 21 years of age or older. Also, marijuana can only be sold by a licensed business, making it illegal to carry marijuana in amounts over a few ounces. Anyone caught carrying large quantities of pot, or pot that has been separated in smaller quantities likely for resale will still be charged with selling marijuana without a license.

Arrested for Marijuana in Wildomar, CA

You won’t be arrested simply for carrying pot on your person. However, because pot can only be sold by a licensed business, carrying more pot that is considered reasonable for personal use can still result in an arrest for marijuana charges.

HS 11349 outlines the penalties for selling marijuana without a license. While a violation of HS 11349 is a misdemeanor for most defendants, authorities can charge violators with a felony if certain criteria are met. A felony violation of HS 11349 is called selling or intent to sell marijuana without a license.

A person might be charged with felony possession of marijuana if:

  • The person has multiple prior drug convictions.
  • Persons with serious, violent, or sex crimes convictions.
  • The arrest occurred in connection with a sale or attempted sale.
  • The sale was being made to a person under the age of 18.
  • The offense involves someone, over 21, employing or using a person twenty years of age or younger in producing, cultivating, or marketing marijuana.
