Your three options
Once bail is set, there are three paths:
- Stay in jail until their case is resolved.
- Work with a bail bond agent.
- Pay the full bail amount upfront until the case is closed.
Typically, a bail bond costs ten percent of the total cost of your bail. That means if your set bail amount is $25,000, you will pay your bondsman $2,500. Please note that the premium is non-refundable and pays the bail bond company for its services.
